Common questions
How is the resale value worked out?
We search the same marketplaces for the same item and take the middle of the sample, not the highest ask. Completed sales are preferred and asking prices only fill in when there are fewer than three sales. Then the marketplace's own selling fee is taken off, so the margin you see is what lands with you, not gross.
How accurate is the margin?
As accurate as the comparables allow, and every alert says how many it rests on. Three comps on a common hoodie is solid; one comp on something rare is a hint. You can set a minimum confidence and have thin reads dropped instead of sent, so the tracker never talks you into a bad buy.
Do I need a Vinted account?
Not for watching and getting alerts — your Calacy account is enough for that. If the bot is going to buy for you, you connect your Vinted account, because the purchase is made as you.
How fast do I get the alert?
The moment a listing is seen, the alert goes straight out — nothing is held back. How often each plan checks is shown on its plan; the higher the plan, the more often it checks.
Can my Vinted account be affected?
The watching happens on our side, not from your account, so the alerts never touch it. Automated use does break Vinted's terms and they can restrict accounts that do — if you connect your account for auto-buy you are taking that risk knowingly. The terms are at the bottom of this page.
Does auto-buy need my card details?
No. Calacy never holds a card for buying — the purchase is made through your own connected marketplace account with the payment method already on it, and only inside the limits you set: a max price per search, a daily spend cap, and a global off switch. Auto-buy is off by default. The only card we hold is the one Stripe uses for the subscription, and Stripe holds that, not us.
Will it work for my niche?
If the items are listed on Vinted, Plick, Blocket or FromJapan, yes — a search is your own keywords, brands, sizes, price range and condition, so it fits whatever you actually flip. It works best where there are comparable sales to price against: common brands give solid margins, one-of-a-kind pieces give a hint rather than a number. Try your own niche during the trial, and if nothing comes through, cancel and pay nothing.
What if a marketplace changes something?
We fix it, and until it is fixed you see it as an error on that marketplace in your dashboard instead of silence. The others keep running — one site breaking never takes your whole search down.
